Basic Visitor Information

The castle is open from April to October according to the published opening hours. Please check the current opening days and tour times before your visit.

The castle interiors may only be visited as part of a guided tour. Standard tours are conducted in Czech. 

Visitors joining Czech-language Tours I or II may borrow printed translations in English, German, Polish, French, Dutch or Russian from the ticket office for the duration of the tour, subject to availability.

Tour I – The Splendour and Glory of the Harrach Family – is available with an English-speaking guide for groups of at least 10 people and must be booked well in advance. To enquire about availability and make a reservation, please call +420 495 441 244 (Czech only) or email vuurenova.anna@npu.cz.

The castle grounds are open daily throughout the year from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm. Admission is free.

Parking

The parking area is located approximately 200 metres from the castle entrance.

Parking fees:

  • Bus: 100 CZK
  • Car: 40 CZK
  • Motorbike and bicycle: free of charge

Parking for cars is permitted only in the designated central castle car park. Vehicles parked outside this area (e.g. in the forest or on the meadow) may be towed.

Accessibility

Parking

Visitors holding a valid disability parking permit may park in the staff car park, which is located closer to the castle entrance for easier access.

Castle

The ground floor tour of the castle can be made fully accessible by prior arrangement with the ticket office.

Visitors with reduced mobility may enter the castle through a side entrance, which will also be used when exiting after the tour.

Please note that baby strollers (of any type) are not permitted inside the castle.

Empty strollers may be left in the entrance hall by prior arrangement with the ticket office and your guide.


Facilities

Public toilets are located in the castle courtyard and are freely accessible. One toilet is adapted for wheelchair users.

The key to the accessible toilet is available from the souvenir shop or the castle ticket office.


Park

The castle park is freely accessible to wheelchair users.

Pets

Entry of dogs and other animals into the castle interiors is prohibited.

Entry with dogs/animals (on a leash) is allowed on the courtyard, southern terrace, and in the park. Visitors are fully responsible for the behavior of their pet and are required to clean up after them.

 

Cyclists

We recommend parking and locking bicycles to the left from the entrance gate to the courtyard. If you wish to have your bicycle more securely stored, it can be arranged at the ticket office to store your bicycles in a locked area of the castle.

PLEASE NOTE CYCLING IS PROHIBITED throughout the castle grounds, including the park, courtyard, and terraces. Bicycles can only be walked, as per the "Rules for visitors to the courtyard, south terrace and park of the State Chateau of Hrádek u Nechanic"

 

Child facilities

A changing table is available in the accessible toilet. You can pick up the key at the souvenir shop during regular opening hours.

Strollers

Unfortunately, entry to the castle with a stroller (of any type) is not allowed. 

The castle park is freely accessible.

 

Refreshments

Café/Confectionery

A stylish café is located directly in the main castle building, next to St. Anna's Chapel. During the season, both indoor and outdoor seating is available and card payment is accepted. Restrooms are located in the courtyard next to the souvenir shop.

Opening hours during the main season: TUE-SUN 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The nearest restaurant is „U Ságnerů“, located in the nearby town of Nechanice, approximately 3 km from the castle.
